Hello, Cheatham Hill families! Can you believe it's February?! Wow. This year is flying by. We feel so blessed for the opportunity to work with our Cheatham Hill students and families each and every day. As we continue into the month of February, our 4th & 5th grade students will begin Career Centers with Mrs. Mason as part of their monthly Core Curriculum lessons. Career Centers are always a fan favorite among our students, as they get to learn about new careers through play and exploration. Be sure to ask your student what careers they are learning about! Check out some pictures of our 1st and 2nd grade students enjoying Career Centers below. Our 2nd and 3rd grade students welcomed Mrs. Bartlett back from maternity leave this month! We are so excited to have her back with us at "The Hill!" Mrs. Bartlett is jumping back into the swing of things, visiting the 2nd and 3rd grade classes every other week for Core Curriculum Lessons. Check back for updates on what your student is learning during Core Curriculum. First grade has finished up their career lessons, and Ms. McCloskey has been so impressed by the career goals and aspirations of our 1st graders! They are now learning all about what it means to be kind during their Valentine's themed lesson. Lastly, our kindergarten students are learning about the difference between BIG deals and little deals. We are challenging our students to become problem solvers and find their own solutions to "little deals." As always, please let us know if you have any questions or concerns regarding your student(s).
~Mrs. Mason, Mrs. Bartlett, and Ms. McCloskey Hello, Cheatham Hill Community! We hope you all enjoyed a restful, relaxing break with family and friends. HAPPY NEW YEAR! We want to start the New Year by saying thank you to our community members for making our Holiday Assistance program SO successful. We helped provide coats, clothes, and gifts to over 70 boys and girls in need during the holidays, and that would NOT have been possible without the support of our Cheatham Hill community, including Jean Bass, Cobb EMC, Nicholson Elementary, and the Chattahoochee Gold Swim Team. Again, thank you for all of your support! As we move along into January, we are looking forward to beginning our Career Centers with students in grades 1-5. Students will have the opportunity to learn about new careers in a fun, hands on way. We encourage you to ask your student what fun, new careers they are learning about during Core Curriculum! While grades 1-5 are busy with Career Centers, our Kindergarteners will be learning all about Sportsmanship while reading Howard B. Wiggle Bottom Learns about Sportsmanship: Winning isn't Everything! They will even be putting their sportsmanship skills to the test during collaborative games and activities! Check back for future updates as we move into February!
Again, Happy New Year! ~Ms. McCloskey, Mrs. Bartlett, and Mrs. Mason Hi there, Cheatham Hill Families! Your support of our Giving Tree program has been SO overwhelming! We feel so blessed to have such a supportive community. Just a friendly reminder... All gifts are due to the counseling suite by Monday, December 10th!Please let your child's counselor know if you have any questions/comments/concerns!
Thanks! ~Ms. McCloskey, Mrs. Bartlett, & Mrs. Mason Hi there, Champions!
We wanted to provide some information regarding our Cheatham Hill Champion Tree. We are blessed with an amazing community that supports our Cheatham Hill families in financial need. Your support is SO appreciated! The Champion Tree will be outside of the counseling suite/clinic from November 12th to December 7th. If you/your child would like to choose an item to purchase and donate, please ensure your child has returned the permission form. We will NOT allow children to pull a star without a permission form. This helps the Counseling Department ensure that each item is purchased and returned. RED stars are $10 items, and GREEN stars are $5 items. Once your student selects a star, please purchase the item and return it UNWRAPPED with the star attached by Monday, December 10th. Thanks in advance for your wonderful support of this program! If you have any questions, please contact your child's school counselor. ~Ms. McCloskey, Mrs. Bartlett, & Mrs. Mason Hi there, Cheatham Hill Families!
