Hi there, Cheatham Hill Families! It's hard to believe that is it already November! This school year is flying by, and we wanted to take a moment to give you a quick update from our counseling department. Since the end of August, we have been busy visiting the classrooms for our Classroom Counseling lessons. Students in grades K-5 receive a counseling lesson every 2-3 weeks. Your students have been learning about diversity, acceptance, bullying, kindness, character traits, coping skills, feeling identification, and SO much more. Be sure to ask your student what he/she has been learning with his/her counselor! On October 22nd, we hosted a parent workshop on Managing and Understanding Anxiety. A local counseling center, Art it Out presented on strategies to support students with anxiety. They will be visiting again in the Spring, so be on the look out for more information on their next parent session! We are also busy preparing for our Holiday Assistance program! The Champion Tree will be on display beginning Monday, November 18th. If you would like to help one of our Cheatham Hill students in need, please complete the parent permission form (going home November 15th), and your student can select a "star" from our Champion Tree! After selecting a "star," please purchase the item, leave it unwrapped, and return it to the counseling suite (star attached!) by Monday, December 9th. Our community is SO wonderful, and we are truly blown away every year by your support of our Champions in need! If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out! ~Mrs. Ostendorf, Mrs. Mason, and Mrs. Bartlett Comments are closed.
